NCAA Jabber 11/13/07

They say that there should not be a playoff in College Football because the whole season is a playoff. That theory is not standing up right now as the Kansas Jayhawks sit at 10-0 and are ranked #3 in the BCS and #4 in the Coaches and Harris Poll. If the season ended today they would not be in the BCS Championship game. Dennis Dodd thinks they are the #1 team right now.

MGOBLOG seems to think that Lloyd Carr will announce his reteirment soon.

Three separate sources indicate that Carr has made his decision to retire official and people around the athletic department are being told. The formal announcement will come after the Ohio State game, possibly at the Monday press conference, possibly a day or two later.

My Mascot is bigger than your Mascot is something that Alabama may be able to say on game day…

During a joint session between the First Year Council and the SGA Senate, the two bodies passed a resolution that will research bringing a live elephant to campus during football games to add school spirit.

I was walking past the TV this weekend when I see Florida getting set to make a play for the endzone. I thought to myself, that’s Tebow on a draw…and it was. Designed or not, I knew it was coming, South Carolina may have knew it was coming but there was no stopping it. Touchdown.

Gene Menez at has Tebow leading the Heisman Race:

Wow. I guess that right shoulder is feeling OK. After two weeks in which it seemed that the bum shoulder would affect Tebow’s running, the quarterback/fullback had arguably the best effort of his season, accounting for seven touchdowns and always looking in control of the game. My favorite play was when he destroyed linebackers Melvin Ingram and Cody Wells at the goal line for his fifth rushing touchdown. The performance was even more remarkable considering Tebow had two easily catchable touchdown passes dropped in the end zone. After the game coach Urban Meyer called it “a Heisman performance.” He’ll get no argument here.

Back up QB in College football doesn’t get the chicks apparently at Ohio State (who we kidding, anywhere)…

Antonio Henton, a redshirt freshman, had been suspended for six weeks following a Sept. 24 arrest in which he was accused of offering an undercover police woman $20 for sex.

    Two things.

1.) Ohio State QB Antonio Henton already served his suspension and is back on the team. The only punishment he received was to pay court costs and go to an 8-hour class that teaches about sexually-transmitted diseases.

2.) Where do you find these pictures? Good god!

  2. Tino Says:

Yeah, it said “had been suspended” and the pictures come from the Pic Fairy 🙂
