AFC East…Some might say a preview

This is one of a series we are doing on the NFL Divisions. The Predicted Division Finish was compiled by looking at the schedule week to week. I know some of them look outlandish but that is how the dice fell. Crazy, huh?

The Poll results are taken from polls at There is NO Offseason.

I picked the Jets !!!! Just kiddin I would probably pick NE even if
Tommy Hodson of Hugh Millen was the starting QB the Bills and Dolphins
just flat out suck and 8-8 for them would be incredible. The Jets are
going to be the one to watch as long as Pennington stays on the field
he goes down they go down.

The rundown…

The AFC East has already been given to the Patriots everywhere on earth. The offseason moves they have made are a first for this team that always seems to be at the top so why not think that this season will even be better? The Jets have made a significant move for their running game by adding Thomas Jones. The Dolphins can go either way with Trent Green but we think it’s for the better. The Bills are the Bills.

Quick take:

It’s always been a complaint that Tom Brady has nobody to throw to. Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker…can’t say that anymore. Tom Brady is already one of the most dangerous QB’s to play in the modern era and now if these WR’s play up to expectations, watch out. Little debate over who wins this division.

Big game:

Week 9 at Indy. This has become the Yankees/ Red Sox of football. Manning vs. Brady. Bad blood from the AFC Championship last year and a likely preview of the AFC Championship this year.

Would be a big loss:

Week one loss to the Jets would hurt. It would just piss them off though and they would take it out on the rest of their schedule.

Quick take:

The big news here is the addition of Thomas Jones. Jones was a top back the last two years in Chicago and then was treated to being traded away. Jones runs well when he has something to prove and we look for that to happen this season. A healthy Chad Pennington would do wonders for the season.

Big game:

Week one hosting the Pats. Can you imagine the high the Jets would have for at least a week being the giant killers?

Would be a big loss:

Week 17 against KC. The Jets may be playing for playoff seeding (or just to get in) here and to fall to the old coach could end the season.

Quick take:

The Dolphins had one of the biggest dance sessions of the offseason with Kansas City over how much they would have to pay for Trent Green. That all seems old news now. Just as things seemed to be getting better and falling into place, Coach doesn’t seem to be happy with his running game. Looks like Ronnie Brown may be sharing time with Jesse Chatman.

Big game:

Week 17 against the Bengals. There is a long shot that the Fins will be playing to get into the playoffs this week. They will be coming off weeks against New England and Baltimore so if they are still alive at this point they must win.
Would be a big loss:
If Dante Culpepper is starting week four with Oakland the Dolphins need to win this game to prove they made the right move at QB.

Quick take:

Nobody is afraid of the Bills. J.P. Losman has not become a guy that the opposing staff have made sure they get extra film work in on. It would be nice to see the Bills start putting things together but it won’t be in 2007.

Big game:

Week three in New England. This team is already playing for pride this season so what would make you more proud than going in and beating the division (conference) favorite on their own turf?
Would be a big loss:

Week 15 against the Browns. The Bills have to prove theya re not the worst team in the NFL.
