(This pic has nothing to do with it but is the first thing to come up in a Google Search for “Vick dog” thanks to www.gambling911.com)
So is anything going on with that dog fighting thing Mike Vick was supposed to be involved in? Not funny, I know. Wow, talk about news overkill. It’s EVERYWHERE! Flashbacks to OJ and Ray Ray. I’m not going to act like I know anything that anyone else don’t. I’m not going to claim to be your “#1 Mike Vick is an idiot Dog Killer Source.” I will jot some thing down here and then leave that to everyone else.
First, let’s brush up on some legal terms to bring you up to speed rather than thinking he has been convicted.
INDICTMENT – A formal accusation of a felony, issued by a grand jury after considering evidence presented by a prosecutor. The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
GRAND JURY – 1) to hear evidence of criminal accusations in possible felonies (major crimes) presented by the District Attorney and decide whether the accused should be indicted and tried for a crime. Since many felony charges are filed by the District Attorney in a municipal or other lower court which holds a preliminary hearing to determine if there is just cause for trial instead of having the Grand Jury hear the matter, this function is of minor importance in many jurisdictions.
If you have not read it yet, you really should read the Indictment so you can then intelligently pass judgment and convict him in your conversations. Inside you will find names, ways dogs died, money exchanging hands, the address to the Vick’s house about 50 times, and the name of apparel you can search for on Ebay highlighting the Dog Ring.
To summarize, Vick and a few of his buddies have their paw prints all over that house you have been seeing everyday on Sports Center the last few months. But really, go read it instead of having others passing along the pieces they feel like sharing. And strange…like PFT.com points out (in the link below) the cousin that was living there at the time is not mentioned anywhere (can you say plea agreement?).
So rather than go long with this, I’ll pass out some links here where you can read up on it…
Pro Football Talk has a page dedicated to it.
and you can go to any newspapers link in the country.
