The NFL Draft is in for a change. The amount of time for picks for the first round is going to be cut from 15 minutes to 10 minutes (good). The second round will go from 10 minutes to seven minutes (good). The draft won’t start until 3pm instead of noon (bad).
“We believe this will make for a more streamlined and efficient draft,” commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement issued during the league owners meetings.
- Speaking of the draft, the race for the first pick and talk of 0-16 is on with the Dolphins and Rams.
In High School our football coach told our team, “Nobody from Maquoketa has ever made it to the NFL and you won’t either.” Pretty inspirational, huh? I never made it…maybe because I was the smallest Defensive Tackle EVER (I would like to think it was just because I refused to cut my hair so I couldn’t go out for sports in Maquoketa anymore). He changed his tune taking the credit for Sage Rosenfels before an Iowa State Bowl game. Sage has been a career backup but always seems to shine when he comes into a game. He threw four fourth quarter TD’s last week and if Matt Schaub can’t go this week he will get a start.
Also to Sage’s credit…he is the only guy my wife will attempt to talk football about since she went to a Bob Dylan concert with his Mom.
The Washington Post would like you to believe that the Redskins will be the team to finally test the Patriots.
Jimmy Johnson can fix the Dolphins. At least he will tell you what he would do.
Profootballreference.com has a pretty entertaining rundown of The Greatest Regular Season Games there Ever Wasn’t.
